Chiltern League 29th January 2005 at Radley College Banbury swimmers swam hard to take fourth place in the first Chiltern League gala of 2005 . This graded league gala was hosted by Abingdon and held at Radley College and saw Banbury competing against teams from Abingdon, Leighton Buzzard, Letchworth and Slough A number of Banbury swimmers took first place in their events. Alissa Robins took first place in the Ladies Open 100m freestyle, Joe Scott took first place in the Mens Open 100m breaststroke and Elizabeth Wallace took first place in the Girls 10 years 50m backstroke. For many swimmers this was their first competitive gala of the year. Many swam new personal bests. New PB’s were achieved by Lucy Harper and Nicola Page in the 50m freestyle, Eve Morley in 50m breaststroke, Elizabeth Wallace, Imogen Webb and Victoria Wallace in the 50m backstroke and Lucy Cross and Alice Eaton in the 50m butterfly. Abigail Harper and Rose McGovern also achieved new PB’s in the 100m over 14’s age group. The boys performed well and they also achieved many new personal bests. Iain Osenten, Finley Webb and Chris Penny recorded new PB’s in the 50m freestyle, Elliot Franklin, Ashley Corbett and Adam Jeffs in the 50m breaststroke, Corey Bradburn and Connor Williams in the 50m backstroke and Jamie Scott in the 50m butterfly. Scott also took a new PB in the 100m Individual Medley. |
